via Culturally Responsive Teaching — “To Teach Me, You Must Know Me.”
As we think about advocating for students and becoming more culturally responsive in our teaching, it is interesting to read about pop culture references to these ideas that we can experience in our lives outside of school. I was reading about this movie a couple of weeks ago and thought I would share it here. This movie delves deeper into the complicated feelings surrounding immigration; although it is not necessarily in the U.S., it is easy to see the themes being repeated in a variety of contexts, including here at home.
